Program Features

  • Mentors/mentees will arrange for at least one face-to-face visit per semester.
  • Mentors/mentees will set expectations for what both parties are expecting from the mentoring relationship/program.
  • Mentors/mentees will plan for a minimum of three contacts (in-person or by phone, email, Skype, etc.) per semester.

  • Thoughtful mentoring matches based on shared industry interests and feedback
  • Networking cocktail reception for mentors and mentees to kick-off the program
  • One-on-one and small group coaching; 1-2 student mentees (Sellinger Scholars/ELMBA) per mentor
  • Partnership with Loyola’s Career Center for career resources:  resume building, professional etiquette training, mock interviewing, and network building skills.
  • Team-building opportunities through experiential learning projects available and optional for mentoring groups
  • Administrative support, facilitation of mentoring relationships, and feedback for program improvements managed  through the Dean’s Office

Suggested Program Timeline

May – July  Gather program feedback via mentor/mentee surveys, consider any improvements
July – September  Confirm returning mentors/mentees and invite new mentors/mentees to apply
Early  September  Mentor matches made and participants notified of their matches
Mid – September  Students make first contact with their mentors to introduce themselves
Early October  Mentors/Mentees set expectations and goals with each other for the mentoring relationship
October  Mentor/Mentee Networking Cocktail Reception
November – May  Mentor groups meet in-person and/or connect via phone/email/Skype
