A graduate student may withdraw from a course upon the advice and approval of the course instructor and the faculty advisor. The last day to withdraw from a course with a grade of W is as follows:

Summer 2013 Session I: June 19, 2013

Summer 2013 Session II: August 1, 2013

Fall 2013 Semester: November 18, 2013

Spring 2014 Semester: April 4, 2014 (Education only)

Spring 2014 Semester: April 11, 2014 (all programs except Education)

After these dates, a student must consult with and receive approval from the appropriate departmental personnel to withdraw from a course with a grade of W, and then only under extenuating circumstances. Reasons such as danger of failing the course, effect of a low or failing grade on QPA, probationary status, or scholarship aid are not sufficient. During the final two weeks prior to the semester examination period, withdrawal from a course is not permitted for any reason. Failure to comply with the official withdrawal procedure will result in a permanent grade of F.
