Your first year at Loyola is bound to be one of the most exciting, liberating, thought-provoking, and inspiring times in your life. You will encounter opportunities and challenges you can’t even imagine today, and Loyola is committed to helping you manage this transition successfully.
For more than 20 years, the University has offered distinctive programs for first-year students—programs designed to support you as you create lasting friendships, develop strong relationships with Loyola faculty members, explore your passions, and discover your potential. These programs offer opportunities to build strong connections with faculty, especially your core advisor, and explore the intellectual, social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of life at Loyola and in Baltimore. These first-year programs also introduce you to the academic and social resources available to you, and to the Jesuit traditions of reflection and discernment that make the Loyola education so extraordinary.
We strongly encourage you to consider enrolling in one of our two first-year programs and to embrace fully the questions raised by this year’s Common Text.
