Loyola University Maryland has named Megan Gillick vice president for advancement, University President Brian F. Linnane, S.J., announced today. In this role, Gillick will lead all of the University’s fundraising efforts and will oversee the offices of annual giving, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, alumni relations, advancement events, advancement communications, and advancement services. Gillick joins Loyola on July 12.
Gillick, who was selected through a nationwide search supported by the Witt/Kieffer search firm, joins Loyola from Oregon State University, where she has served as senior director of development for intercollegiate athletics and associate campaign director since 2005.
“Megan’s exceptional track record of achievement in advancement and profound understanding of the mission and ideals of Jesuit higher education will lend remarkable strength and leadership to Loyola’s already-successful fundraising initiatives,” said University President Brian F. Linnane, S.J. “She is a particularly valuable addition to Loyola’s senior management team at this time, when we are beginning to plan for our next—and most ambitious—capital campaign.”
Gillick’s accomplishments at Oregon State include leading her staff in raising more than $100 million toward its $129.5 million unit goal in Oregon State’s ongoing $625 million capital campaign. Earlier in her career, Gillick held several positions in advancement at Georgetown University, including assistant vice president for major gifts at Georgetown University Medical Center and several positions of increasing responsibility in advancement at Georgetown College, Georgetown’s school of arts and sciences. She also served as associate director of Tanglewood development at the Boston Symphony Orchestra and was assistant director of development for the Northwestern University School of Law. She began her career in advancement at Colgate University, her alma mater.
