Acclaimed Irish author Colm Tóibín will appear at the Loyola/Notre Dame Library on Thursday, April 15 as part of the Contemporary Catholic Writers Series. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Ridley Auditorium and will be followed by a reception.
Tóibín is the author of several novels, including The South, The Heather Blazing, The Story of the Night, The Blackwater Lightship, and The Master, which won the 2006 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. His most recent book, Brooklyn, won in the novels category of the Costa Book of the Year awards.
Born in County Wexford, Ireland, Tóibín is a graduate of University College Dublin and has been a visiting lecturer at Stanford University, the University of Texas at Austin, and Princeton University.
